Amari has shared that he will be holding off on reviews for a while, to focus on his own writing. Please visit his blog to wish him the best of luck!

Mr. Sali's Reviews (#72)

This week in "Mr. Sali's Reviews", I am featuring three of Amari's reviews.

Movie poster from the film's Wikipedia page

He says of Insurgent, the second installment of the Divergent series:

"Insurgent is all one could hope for in a sequel, yet unfortunately is burdened by a familiar script due to the many other similar trilogies out there."

Movie poster (from Imp Awards)

Some of his thoughts on the film, Lily & Kat:

"A slightly boring movie in which you watch the lop sided relationship of the leads go from high to low, and repeat, over the course of a week."

And he gave the new CW series, iZombie (based on the comic book of the same name) a very positive review! Click here to read it!

Mr. Sali's Reviews (#67)

This week on Wherever I Look, Amari reviewed the new ABC sitcom, Cristela:

"I don't want to say that this show is refreshing, but at the same time it is hard to deny how interesting this show because Cristela, and her family, don't treat being Mexican as something to be swept under the rug nor treat it as the elephant in the room. Her culture, and heritage, is on full display by speaking Spanish, her mother Natalia speaking about the life she had before immigrating, and just this general sense that we are going to get a less heavy-handed approach than Black-ish when it comes to Cristela's culture."
